Toughest home and road opponents on LA Rams schedule in 2024
By Bret Stuter
With the end of Super Bowl LVIII, the NFL has no more live football to offer football fans, and the sting of 29 consecutive Sundays without the gift of a football game has already begun to sting. Some fans' reactions to the lack of football are to go cold turkey and react with indignation and irritation to any article that mentions the game. You can see evidence of that in the comments sections, as they are the ones who insist that articles cease to be written about the sport.
Others, like myself, become even more eager to hear news about the LA Rams, or the NFL in general. This is the time when NFL rules and regulations, important dates, schedules, mock drafts and coaching hires take center stage. It's a time to fill in the gaps of what caused the team to find success or struggles last season, and project what can be done to smooth the team for the upcoming year.
Even as the 2023 NFL season has ended, the 2024 opponents are already known. The NFC West Division will clash with other NFC West opponents twice, with NFC North opponents once, with AFC East opponents once, and will fill out the remaining schedule with teams that finished the year in second place in their respective divisions.
Rams schedule is another tough one in 2024
Because 2024 is an even year, NFC teams get the extra home game. And that allows NFL teams to anticipate who they will face on the road, and who they will face at home, already.
The image above can be broken down thusly for 2024: But lets add a bit more data to the expected 2024 Rams Schedule by displaying the same information in a data table:
Division | Home opponent | Record | Road Opponent | Record |
---|---|---|---|---|
NFC West | 49ers | 12-5 | 49ers | 12-5 |
NFC West | Seahawks | 9-8 | Seahawks | 9-8 |
NFC West | Cardinals | 4-13 | Cardinals | 4-13 |
NFC North | Packers | 9-8 | Lions | 12-5 |
NFC North | Vikings | 7-10 | Bears | 7-10 |
AFC East | Bills | 11-6 | Patriots | 4-13 |
AFC East | Dolphins | 11-6 | Jets | 7-10 |
2nd place | Eagles | 11-6 | Saints | 9-8 |
2nd place | Raiders | 8-9 | ||
Combined records | 82-71 | 64-72 | ||
Strengh Of Schedule | .505 |
So what can we learn this far out, even before team rosters are set and the order of games is truly known? Well, we can determine that with two exceptions, the LA Rams face their presumed toughest opponents in the friendly comforts of SoFi Stadium. We can also calculate the Rams Strength of Schedule (or SOS) as coming in at .505, which is a relatively difficult schedule to face.
