Toughest home and road opponents on LA Rams schedule in 2024

Toughest Home Opponent I: San Francisco 49ers
The LA Rams have finally broken through the accursed regular-season losing streak to the San Francisco 49ers, but to truly break the curse, the Rams will need to string together some wins of their own against their NFC Western Division rival. That won't be easy. Even as the 49ers must shake off another postseason loss, the team has the advantage of paying a starting quarterback, Brock Purdy, next to nothing. It's that reason that allows the team to invest heavily in other positions, which continues to buoy the 49ers chances of success.
But the loss in Super Bowl LVIII for the 49ers did not end well. The 49ers blew a 10-point lead on their way to losing in overtime, and the backlash of irate fans, questionable calls, and horrendous meltdown has already taken its toll, as 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan fired DC Steve Wilks.
But even though chaos seems to be swirling around the 49ers right now, nothing seems to pull that team out of a tailspin than facing the Rams at SoFi Stadium. And lest we forget, the Rams defeated the 49ers in Week 18 thanks to the arm, and legs, of backup quarterback Carson Wentz. The 49ers defense has bad optics in recent years when facing mobile quarterbacks, and the Rams finally leveraged that to claim a win.
It is highly unlikely that the Rams will pit a mobile quarterback against the 49ers in 2024, even if the team does re-sign veteran QB Carson Wentz. That leaves the Rams back in the same situation as before Wentz's arrival, trying to overcome their NFC West Division nemesis. The Rams nearly did so in their Week 2 matchup in 2023. Hopefully, they can finally do so in 2024.
