2025 NFL Draft picks
Initially, the LA Rams 2025 NFL draft picks consisted of the team's normal allotment of one pick apiece in each of the seven rounds of the draft. But when the LA Rams traded for IOL Kevin Dotson, they accepted the swap of their 2025 NFL Draft pick in Round 5 for the Steelers pick in Round 6 of the same year. So that has translated into the Rams projected draft board taking shape in the following manner:
- Round 1 – The Rams hold their first-round pick
- Round 2– The Rams hold their second-round pick
- Round 3 – The Rams hold their third-round pick
- Round 4 – The Rams hold their fourth-round pick
- Round 5 – TRADE: The Rams traded away their fifth-round pick
- Round 6 - The Rams have obtained the Pittsburgh Steelers sixth-round pick
- Round 6 - The Rams hold their sixth-round pick
- Round 7 - The Rams hold their seventh-round pick
- TOTAL - 7 picks
The Rams' trade for IOL Kevin Dotson has impacted their 2025 NFL Draft as well. In this year's draft. the Rams have traded back from their own fifth-round pick to the Steelers' sixth-round pick. While that eliminates the Rams from any picks in Round 5 at the moment, the Rams may make trades or be awarded compensatory draft picks based on the exodus of LA Rams free agents in 2024.
While the Rams are projected to have expiring contracts for 19 players, none of the exiting players inspire much in the way of lucrative contracts. And without big paydays for former Rams players, the compensatory picks that will be awarded to the Rams in 2025 will be late in the draft, if at all.
Even if the Rams do maximize four awarded compensatory draft picks in 2025, they will almost certainly fall in Round 7. That being the case, the LA Rams could hold 11 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, but eight of those picks will fall on Day 3, and as many as seven picks could fall in Rounds 6 and 7.
