By Bret Stuter
While you may not recognize all of the players who suit up and take the football field to face the Dallas Cowboys in the LA Rams first opportunity to take the field and play four quarters of fan attending football at SoFi Stadium. Since the NFL has added a 17th regular season game, preseason contests have been earmarked almost exclusively for most rookies and veterans who are not clear starters or significant role players. As such, the contests are opportunities for seldom-seen from players to earn a roster spot on the team. That means not only from in-game production on offense or defense, but also includes playmakers on special teams.
Add in the new NFL rules for kickoffs, both kicking and kickoff returns, and you've added extra incentive to tune in and check it out.
The team will play three preseason games before paring down the team's roster by Tuesday, August 27 for the team to get down to an active 53-man roster limit.
