If you want the LA Rams to make the NFL Playoffs

Of course, you could be a true believer in the LA Rams, and refuse to wave the white flag until the LA Rams are mathematically eliminated from any and all chances of postseason play. If that is the case, you will be rooting a bit differently for teams to clear the way for the LA Rams to make the NFL Playoffs.

With seven playoff berths, and four spots earmarked for the NFC Division winners, the LA Rams have to pick off the three wildcard teams in order to earn one of the three spots. As of Thursday, November 23, there are four NFL teams who are higher in the NFL Playoff queue than the LA Rams. They are: The Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings, and finally the Green Bay Packers.

For the Rams to rise in the queue, those four teams must lose games.

  1. Lions over Packers - This is an easy one to cheer for. The Packers defeated the Rams, and both teams have the same 4-6 record. The Rams must finish the season with a better record than the Packers to earn a playoff berth. If the Packers fall to the Lions, they fall to 4-7.
  2. Commanders over Cowboys - While a Washington Commanders victory will temporarily place them ahead of the Rams, the Rams lost to the Cowboys already this season. The Rams will face the Commanders in the future.
  3. 49ers over Seahawks - It's pretty clear that the LA Rams' best chance of competing in the NFL Playoffs this year is to usurp the Seattle Seahawks for a playoff berth. If the 49ers beat the Seahawks, and if the Rams defeat the Arizona Cardinals, the Rams will be just one game behind the Seahawks for a playoff berth.

So how can we sum this up? No matter how you want the Rams to end the season, everyone should cheer against the Dallas Cowboys (funny how that worked out). if you want the Rams to earn a shot at competing in the NFL Playoffs, you should be cheering for the Detroit Lions and the San Francisco 49ers.

But if you are still hoping for a Top-5 pick for the Rams, then you have to cheer for the Green Bay Packers. And quite honestly, you can cheer either way in the 49ers vs. Seahawks game.

That should help sort out the games today for you. Happy Thanksgiving to all! And thank you.
