2. Gardner Minshew, Las Vegas Raiders

You have to wonder what the Las Vegas Raiders plans were. They gave Gardner Minshew way too much money and missed out on a QB in the 2024 NFL Draft. By the time they were on the clock at pick 13, all six of the first-round QBs were gone. It's hard to like anything that the Raiders have done this offseason, and banking on Minshew for 2024 is an admittance of failure.

He's a high-end backup who can sometimes burst into the starter realm here and there. Funnily enough, he's got better career statistics than Trevor Lawrence, who replaced him in Jacksonville.

1. Jacoby Brissett/Drake Maye, New England Patriots

I think no matter who the Patriots decide to start here, there isn't anything to say that either QB will be any good. I mean, we know what Jacoby Brissett is at this point, and he's in the same tier as Gardner Minshew a a high-end backup that can sometimes play like a starter. Drake Maye was the team's third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and could end up beginning his NFL career on the bench.

Beyond their top two QBs, the Patriots offensive personnel is a disaster, so the LA Rams should tear this team apart on defense. It might be a bit before Maye gets his footing in the NFL, as the Patriots still have a done of work to do talent-wise. This QB room is among the worst in the NFL right now until either can prove otherwise.
