If that happens, not only do the Rams start off the 2024 NFL season with a three-game losing streak, but the team will have fallen to 0-3 in the NFC, and 0-2 in the NFC Western Division. That creates a host of nightmare scenarios in any tie-breaker situation.

Winning won't be easy. The LA Rams are unlikely to have an easy time in this one, regardless of the 49ers health. Someone, or perhaps many players, must reach down deep and put up a huge game for the Rams to win in Week 3. As is the case for many NFL rookies who ascend to the upper tiers of production, Week 3 could be the rite of passage for some Rams future All-Pro.
