When the LA Rams sought roster help to bail out their sinking 2022 NFL season, they turned to the Carolina Panthers for possible roster reinforcements. The first player the team tried to trade for was RB Christian McCaffrey, who ultimately was traded to the San Francisco 49ers. For what? For a small fortune.

"Last October, the Panthers traded Pro Bowl running back Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers for second-, third- and fourth-round picks in 2023 and a fifth-round pick in 2024."

But this is not about what the 49ers traded for Christian McCaffrey didn't trade for the Panthers running back. The Rams reportedly had 2023 NFL Draft picks in Rounds 2 and 3, and a 2024 NFL Draft pick in Round 5, plus RB Cam Akers on the table for the Panthers running back.

The Rams reportedly had a Round 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, plus Round 1 and 2 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, on the table for DE/OLB Brian Burns.

So who did the Rams end up keeping with those retained draft picks?
