FF III: Injury History

If you hesitate to add LA Rams feature running back Kyren Williams to your team in 2024, then you are outthinking the obvious. A guy who missed nearly one-third of the 2023 NFL season still managed to dominate the NFL in terms of running the football. Here is what NFL analyst Adam Rank had to say about Kyren Williams's 2024 season:

"I know, many people are going to be drafting rookie running back Blake Corum, and that is not a bad strategy. But Kyren was so good down the stretch in 2023. On the season, he led the NFL in rushing yards per game (95.3) and, despite missing five games, finished third in total rushing yards (1,144). Sean McVay typically gives the bulk of the carries to one back, and Williams should have plenty of chances to eat in an offense that ranked 11th in rushing in 2023"

Now, that was in a season when Williams backed up RB Cam Akers, was held out in the final fame to rest for the playoffs, played behind a frequently shifting offensive line, missed multiple games mid-season due to injury, and was without a strong commitment to running the football early in the season.

All of that began to change as the team began to rely on Williams to handle rushing the football. Williams came into his own in October 2023, when he converted three games into 58 carries for 314 yards and three touchdowns. But he suffered an injury in the middle of the month, and did not return to the offense until the last game of November 2023.

Yet he still managed to end the year among the league's Top-Three running backs. That is itself a very impressive feat.
