Here we go again, a glimpse into the inner workings of the 2024 NFL Draft, and the fact that the LA Rams brain trust is placed back on the NFL's center stage. It was bound to happen, wasn't it? After all, how could the marketing magicians of the NFL let the first Rams Round 1 draft pick since 2016 slip past them without a lot of hoopla and fanfare. After all, this is the same team that has appeared in two Super Bowls without the benefit of a first round pick.

Well, the Roku Channel produced an Roku Original film - NFL Draft: The Pick Is In. To get a feel for what it is all about, you can check out the embedded Official Trailer below.

So what? Why is this something that Rams fans would have any interest in now that the draft has come and gone? While it may not be everyone's cup of tea, there are a surprising number of Rams fans whose curiosity is piqued at what goes on behind the scenes of the NFL Draft. So let's run down the list of prospects who were on the board, and who may have given the Rams reasonable cause to trade significant value to move to select that rookie prospect.

  • Notre Dame OT Joe Alt
  • Washington WR Rome Odunze
  • Washington QB Michael Penix
  • USC QB Caleb Williams
  • LSU WR Malik Nabers
  • Alabama OT J.C. Latham

With those prospects eliminated, we can run down the list of possibilities.

All set? Let's get to it:
