There has not been a wider gap between NFL Draft analysts and NFL general managers as much as there seems to be at the 2023 NFL Draft over the quarterback position. Some projections before the draft occured had as many as five quarterbacks being selected in Round 1 of the draft. Now that the draft is entering Day 3, we know that only three quarterbacks were chose on Day 1, and two were chosen on Day 2.

That leaves a number of quarterback with draftable grades remaining on the draft board for Day 3 And with the LA Rams boasting just one quarterback on the roster now, it's not a matter of if the Rams will draft a quarterback, but when.

One quarterback who shows up on the LA Rams Big Board is Stetson Bennett, quarterback, Georgia.; While he only stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 192 pounds, Stetson has a high football IQ, can make all the throws, and can stretch plays with his ability to scramble. He could be chosen in either Round 5 or 6.

Another quarterback who could be targeted by the LA Rams is Clayton Tune, quarterback, Houston. Tune is a a prototypical quarterback who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 220 pounds. While Bennett is a playmaker who improvises, Tune is a quarterback whose best work happens in a clean pocket, and he is not asked to improvise.

Because the Rams are now limited to Day 3 quarterbacks, their selection will be limited to those quarterbacks who are viewed as having physical limitations (too short, weak arm) or too scheme dependant. If the scheme is the weakness, then the Rams have a chance of finding the right quarterback to fit the scheme.

One sleeper for the LA Rams at quarterback is Jaren Hall, quarterback, BYU. Hall has the physical limitation of standing 6-foot-0 and weighing 207 pounds. But he is a quarterback who truly could become a solid, if not outstanding, quarterback in the NFL. He has that leadership it factor when he gets into the huddle, He is very accurate, will take the checkdown rather than take a sack, and has the fire that you want to see in an offensive leader. The Rams will likely need to use the Round 4 pick if he is their target.
