So far, the LA Rams appear to have left their offense behind in the early minutes of Thursday Night Football. After scoring almost at will, the Rams' first two offensive drives have resulted in punts. Of course, it doesn't help the fact that veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford has thrown four passes, and three of those passes should have been intercepted.

But Stafford did complete one pass, to entrusted wide receiver Puka Nacua. While one completion does not typically warrant an article, Puka Nacua's acrobatic circus-catches deserve to be featured as they happen. We've seen Nacua make exciting toe touches on the sidelines to ensure a completion. We've seen Nacua catch one over his shoulder in a window as tight as a thread through the eye of a needle.

But we have never seen Nacua use a defender's helmet to secure a catch. But if you had that on your bingo card, you can officially cover that square now:

The catch was so phenomenal that it warranted several replays from Amazon before the next snap of the football. Nacua secures the football against 49ers DB Charvarius Ward as he is tackled.

Unfortunately, the Rams offense appears to be as bad in Week 15 as the offense appeared to be good in Week 14. As the first quarter is coming to a close, the Rams offense has done nothing. The offense has failed to get a first down, has just 23 yards, and Stafford has completed just two of eight passes. Four of the Rams incompletions could easily have resulted in interceptions.

As is often the case for the Rams this season, the offense fails to play consistent football. Stafford is struggling. That should mean downshifting into a run-centric offense. But that is not how the Rams roll whenever they play the 49ers. When the passing game struggles, the team seems to double down on committing even more heavily to the pass.

And so far, that game plan is failing miserably.
