Rams-Chiefs game of 2018 has a new rival, and I think this one may be better

There is something about flawless offense that is tough to beat.

Reason (1) - It happened in 2024

My first reason for enthusiastically supporting the 44-42 offensive output by the LA Rams defeating the Buffalo Bills is the simple fact that it happened in 2024. That's right. It happened in 2024. Let me elaborate further.

The LA Rams have not had quarterback Jared Goff under center since 2020. And neither the LA Rams nor the Kansas City Chiefs still boast the players who set that NFL high-water mark of offense. So for fans in 2024, it's a shade, a page in the history books that we must simply now take on the word of others. Yes, you can look up the game on ESPN.com and review the Box Score. But you can't see those same players in live NFL action the following week.

When it comes to the Bills-Rams game, fans have the opportunity to see both teams in live action in four more games this season.

There have been a lot of stars in the NFL. Some have risen and fallen quickly. Others have taken their time in their ascent and descent. When it comes to LA Rams veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford and Buffalo Bills veteran quarterback Josh Allen, the NFL set high expectations for both, but was slow to warm up to their unique style of football.

Stafford is the old-school pocket passer who stands behind an offensive line and lets the football sail out of his hands, dissecting NFL secondaries with ease. Allen is the new wave of NFL quarterbacks, able to evade a pass rush by extending plays with his legs, all the while training his eyes downfield to find the open receiver. The two quarterbacks combined for 45 completions out of 67 passes thrown for 662 passing yards and five touchdowns. But if you throw in Josh Allen's rushing ability, you add 82 rushing yards on 10 carries for three more touchdowns.

Seriously, an impressive and perhaps unique offensive output
