Well there goes that dream.

Well, it happened.

After months (and months, and months) of speculation, Jalen Ramsey was traded. His Dolphins era has, mercifully, ended.

That's about all the good news that I can relay because, if you haven't noticed by now, Jalen Ramsey is extremely not on the Rams. Even though we all spent the entire offseason kind of assuming that Ramsey would somehow find his way back to Los Angeles (and it's not like he was going to play for the *Chargers*), he, uh, did not. In fact, he didn't end up anywhere near Los Angeles.

Jalen Ramsey was finally traded ... to the Pittsburgh Steelers

Who knew Ramsey was such a good video editor too?! When his playing days are over, there's a whole new career in content creation waiting for him. In hindsight, maybe the trade to Pittsburgh isn't that surprising – the Steelers are obviously making a hard run at this apparent one-year Super Bowl window that they think having Aaron Rodgers gives them, and moves for Ramsey and Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf only prove that more.

Ultimately, it's not like this decision makes (or breaks) the Rams' offseason. LA's secondary has some encouraging young guys, and while Ramsey would have certainly helped with their cornerback – or, eventually, safety – depth, it's not like their secondary is going to collapse without him. We'll miss the fun Ramsey Return training camp storylines, but once meaningful football starts actually being played, having Ramsey in another conference, on the other side of the country, probably isn't the end of the world for the Rams. At least he didn't get traded to the Chiefs.
