Perhaps the legends of the Los Angeles Rams are not the first thing fans think of when it comes to contemplating Hollywood and the red carpet premieres that swell the social calendar. While the likes of Fred Dryer starring as Hunter or Merlin Olsen showing up on Little House on the Prairie are no more, the new wave of LA star football players are beginning to get the same love from the camera.

That was glaringly obvious in the latest Rams draft day hype video, which starred outside linebackers Jared Verse and Byron Young, right guard Kevin Dotson, and even former Rams Terry Crews (who himself has found a second career in front of the camera).

Check it out:

It is the type of video that is perfectly crafted and timed to get fans in the right frame of mind to enjoy what amounts to a shopping spree of draft picks and free agent contracts for undrafted college players. Unlike many teams, Los Angeles has a history of finding diamonds as late as Day 3 and starters after the draft.

LA Rams embrace entertaining fans during the NFL Draft

While the LA Rams play professional football, the franchise continues to embrace the need to entertain fans with unique opportunities. Los Angeles has begun a tradition of creating several videos that feature the draft, the grind throughout the offseason, and even set up draft events to ensure fans remain engaged throughout the multi-day event.

What other NFL team would give an offensive lineman time a part in a draft hype video?

But this is not simply PR money. The opportunity to get facetime in front of a camera is a unique benefit that lures players to LA. It's just one of the perks that other teams simply cannot match. And for Byron Young, Jared Verse, and Kevin Dotson, the shared experience builds the esprit de corps that forges players into a team.

Silliness? Just having fun? Perhaps. But in a sport that compels professional athletes to dedicate up to 30 years of their lives to flourish, it's a great change of pace. Better still, it gives fans one more way to celebrate their favorite players off the field.

It's no wonder the video is drawing plenty of buzz from fans. It creates a marketing opportunity for tickets and merchandise, disguised as a fun video. And who knows? Perhaps a current Rams player will star in a future Marvel superhero movie.
