The Ugly

The LA Rams survived a scare with the injury alarm to WR Puka Nacua, but did not get a full game out of Nacua. You see, after Matthew Stafford threw an ill-timed interception, a Seattle Seahawks defender was aggressive and hammered at Nacua in his zeal for a block. When Nacua hauled off and threw a punch, he was ejected.

As is often the case, the first transgression is not flagged. But retaliation is almost always caught and flagged. If you want to see the play, here it is as posted on social media.

The ejection seemed way over the top. I could see it if he shoved a referee. But he was simply responding to the Seahawks player. Oh well, we'll let the NFL office sort it all out. I'm sure Nacua will feel it in his wallet later this week.

The Seahawks scored another touchdown as a result of that interception. As the first half came to a close, the Rams were in the uncomfortable position of having a struggling offense, a determined opponent, and the only blessing was the fact the this team anticipated opening the second half with the football.
