The Hollywood ending
The LA Rams offense was not exactly firing on all cylinders in this one. Despite the score tied at 20-20, the Rams had to depend on a defensive touchdown to remain in this one. And so, it was the offense's turn to show up or shut up. Guess what the Rams did?
On the first play, Stafford found seldom-used WR Tyler Johnson deep for a 24-yard completion. On the Rams second play, Stafford found WR Tutu Atwell on a 16-yard completion. In just two plays, the offense drove the football from their own 17-yard line to the Seahawks 43-yard line.
On the very next play, the offense sent RB Kyren Williams through the line for a four-yard gain. And that was a very strategic chess move. You see, the Seahawks now believed that the Rams would gear down to short-yardage passes and runs, so they snuck one of their safeties into the box.
That is exactly what the Rams wanted in this cat-and-mouse exchange. The Rams send WR Demarcus Robinson flying down the sidelines for his sixth catch of the game. And that 39-yard completion resulted in his second touchdown of the game.
The Rams offense clearly saved the best for last. The team drove 83 yards in 2:22 to score that game-winning touchdown. Matthew Stafford sizzled, completing all three passes to win the game.
Forget what you think you knew about this team. The Rams victory not only places them in the heart of the NFC West Division Title, but the team has climbed to the 10th-seeded team in the NFC. The Rams now return home to prepare for their Week 10 opponent, the Miami Dolphins.
As always, thanks for reading.
