Should the Rams consider any of these if a team were to make an offer?

One of the biggest storylines around the NFL right now is actually more of a question: what will the L.A. Rams do with quarterback Matthew Stafford?

We know Stafford would like to return. We also know that the Rams would have to re-work his contract in order to ensure he's fairly paid. At the moment, he's getting paid roughly $20 million less than the top of the market, on an annual basis.

The rumors and whispers of a potential Stafford trade seem to get louder as the days go by, and the noise will continue until we get a concrete answer.

Recently, a trade price was revealed in a potential Stafford trade with FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz reporting it would likely take a first-round pick in order to get a trade done.

With that in mind, what exactly could the Rams be looking at in terms of a potential offer, and where would the offers be coming from?

The Pittsburgh Steelers make the most sense for a Matthew Stafford trade

If the Rams wanted to ensure they received a first-round pick in this year's draft, there is only one team which makes sense, and that's the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their pick checks in at no. 21 overall, which would be sufficient value for the veteran passer.

Along with Stafford, though, the Steelers would get a fifth-round pick to even out the value just a bit.

A Matthew Stafford trade would cost the Giants, but not this year

The team getting the most buzz about a possible Stafford trade has, of course, been the New York Giants. However, they own the no. 3 pick this year and there's no chance of that being included in a deal.

If the Giants wanted to get something done, they could do a mid-round pick swap this year in conjunction with offering next year's first-round pick. That way, theoretically, next year's first rounder would be much later than no. 3 overall.

At least, that'd be the hope on New York's part.

Cleveland seems like a wild card for Matthew Stafford, but it could work

While the Browns own the no. 3 pick in this year's draft, there is certainly some case to be made that Stafford would turn this team around in a hurry. Should the Browns part with next year's first rounder and use this year's on a player like Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter, or even trade back for a haul, they might not be far off from competing.

Stafford also gets to play in a quarterback-friendly offense under Kevin Stefanski, who does a lot of great things similar to Sean McVay in trying to make things easier on his quarterbacks.

One more team to mention, just because they'll also be in need of a quarterback, and that's the New York Jets. With moving on from Aaron Rodgers, we're not sure what their plans are at the position either.

Don't forget the Las Vegas Raiders, but that seems unlikely.
