For the third time in the Sean McVay era, the Los Angeles Rams are on their way to the NFC Championship Game. They took down the Chicago Bears in overtime on a game-winning field goal and will now head to Seattle for a second time this year to face the Seahawks.

The Seahawks are a beatable team, as the Rams did have a double-digit fourth quarter lead against them in the regular season. Overall, while the game should be back and forth, the Rams should prevail, as they have an obvious coaching and quarterback advantage, and that really isn't up for discussion.

With the win over the Bears in the Divisional Round, McVay's playoff record is now 10-5. Not only is a .667 winning percentage excellent in the regular season, but it's other-worldly in the playoffs. With his 10th playoff win, McVay just hit some more all-time coaching history, and I don't think any of us are surprised.

Sean McVay has double the amount of playoff wins than any coach before turning 40 years old

It's a bit of a niche record, but McVay now has double the amount of playoff wins by a coach before turning 40 years old. As Adam Schefter notes, McVay will turn 40 years old one day before the NFC title game:

McVay is also 92-57 in the regular season, having been the coach for nine years. He's made the playoffs in seven of those years and has won double-digit games in seven seasons. In four of the last five years, the Rams have won double-digit games, and McVay also has three seasons with at least 12 regular season wins.

The lone losing season was in 2022, as the Rams battled a ton of injuries that year, and it was just too much to overcome at the time. With two more victories, McVay would have 12 playoff wins, which would get him inside the top-10 all-time, and another Super Bowl title would also give McVay a guaranteed shot at the Hall of Fame when he's done coaching.

To think that McVay isn't yet 40 years old is wild. He could have another 20, 25 years of coaching ahead of him. We're likely a solid decade away from any chance of McVay perhaps retiring or stepping down, but for now, the Rams can enjoy how good they have it with Sean McVay, already turning into an all-time great coach.
