Once upon a time not all that long ago, Jalen Ramsey played for the Los Angeles Rams. In fact, Ramsey was a part of the 2021 Rams team that won Super Bowl LVI and he played some of his best football while donning the blue and yellow.

The Rams traded Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins two years ago but now that the Dolphins are hoping to trade him, it makes sense to think about what a reunion could look like for Ramsey and Los Angeles.

When asked about this hypothetical reunion, Rams head coach Sean McVay gave an answer that's hard for Rams fans not to be a little giddy about.

"You would certainly never rule out the possibility of that," McVay said. "There’s a lot of layers that would need to be worked out with a player of his magnitude... but you would never eliminate the possibility of adding a total stud."

Rams fans shouldn’t ignore what Sean McVay said about Jalen Ramsey

While the Rams have continued to be competitive without Ramsey, there's no doubt that a player like Ramsey would only make the team better. The L.A. defense got young fast when Aaron Donald retired following the 2023 season but the unit rose to the occasion and adding Ramsey to it could make an electric unit even more fun to watch.

That being said, there is something to make of McVay's "there's a lot of layers that would need to be worked out" comment. That's mostly referring to the financial aspect of things and the fact that the Rams would need to likely shed at least a Day 2 pick to land their former star.

The Rams have proven in the past to not be afraid of taking risks and re-adding Ramsey back into the fold would fall into that category. That being said, this team has done just fine without Ramsey and they need to stay focused on their young players moving forward. Ramsey is 30 years old (he'll turn 31 in October) and trading a ton for (and paying) him might not be worth it at this point.

It still could be a lot of fun to see Ramsey back in the Rams blue and yellow though. If the money can get worked out, this could be a huge spark for the LA Rams.
