The Los Angeles Rams have used every means and asset at their disposal to create playoff competitive rosters. And there was an urgency about the team, as general manager Les Snead often found himself trading away future draft picks for present-day game-changers.

No more.

The team was stymied in 2022 by the Carolina Panthers in two proposed trades, one for running back Christian McCaffrey and one for edge rusher Brian Burns.. The Panthers eventually traded both players, but Snead's offer was not enough to pry either player away.

It may not have been the original plan, but it was often the Plan B option that would prove to be even better. And so, fans have come to applaud the draft prowess of a front office that wanted to trade those picks away.

Until the 2025 NFL Draft, that is. In a bold, risk-taking move, the Rams deferred an instant draft selection for the chance at a much more valuable selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, courtesy of the Atlanta Falcons. It appears that proactive gamble may hit the jackpot.

Rams 2027 NFL Draft selections

Los Angeles' 2027 NFL Draft allotment of picks has only been altered with one small change. The team traded cornerback Tre'Davious White and the Round 7 pick in the 2027 NFL Draft for a Round 7 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft (see above)

Rams 2028 NFL Draft selections

The LA Rams' 2028 NFL Draft picks have few changes to the original allotment. The team did acquire an additional Round 7 pick from the Cleveland Browns in 2028 for offensive lineman K.T. Leveston.

  • Round 1
  • Round 2
  • Round 3
  • Round 4
  • Round 5
  • Round 6
  • Round 7 (via Cleveland Browns for K.T. Leveston)
  • Round 7

While the number of picks may seem less than hoped-for, keep in mind that this does not reflect any future awarded compensatory picks for free agents signed to lucrative contracts by other teams. Even now, the list of potential positional needs for next season is rather long.

Thankfully, a solid complement of picks will go a long way to filling roster holes in 2026.

As always, thanks for reading.
