What time will the Rams be on the clock on Round 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft?

The Los Angeles Rams are not stepping up to the podium of the 2025 NFL Draft anytime soon. That is, the team may have picks dispersed throughout Days 1, 2, and 3. But due to the order of draft picks, the Rams will be on the backside of picks on any given day. Not to worry. The Rams picked 19th out of 32 Round 1 picks in the 2024 NFL Draft and emerged with the 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year. So you can count on the Rams to be very effective when the On The Clock notification occurs.

Which brings us to the reason for this article. At what time should fans expect the Los Angeles Rams to step up to that podium? After all, the next three days are a significant amount of time to invest in your computer or facing your television screen. It's even too much time to monitor your smartphone for the latest updates.

So we will attempt to pinpoint when the Rams will make their selections for you:

When is the 2025 NFL Draft? 

The 2025 NFL Draft is a three-day event. This year, the draft will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and will take place from April 24 through April 26, 2025.

• Day 1 - Thursday, April 24: Round 1, 5:00 pm PT
• Day 2 - Friday, April 25: Rounds 2-3, 4:00 pm PT
• Day 3 - Saturday, April 26: Rounds 4-7, 9:00 am PT

This year's draft class has a small but impressive enclave of elite rookie prospects. But they are limited to approximately 10 prospects. Complicating the matter even further is the absence of dominating quarterback prospects in this draft. Since quarterbacks are almost always the first players selected, mock drafts up to this point vary wildly in who will hear their names called out on Day 1.

To add even more excitement, all 32 NFL teams rush to sign undrafted collegiate free agents as soon as the 2025 NFL Draft concludes. While that segment of restocking an NFL team's roster may not excite everyone, it should certainly add some zing for Rams fans. The Rams landed ILB Omar Speights, IOL Justin Dedich, and DB Jaylen McCollough to the roster after last year's draft.

And the 2025 NFL Draft is thought to be deep enough to hold NFL-caliber talent past the draft rounds. Look for deep positions like tight end, running back, and defensive linemen to spill out of the draft and into the undrafted group of talented rookie prospects.

Even as the Rams prepare to get it right on draft day, the team is equally prepared to round out the roster after the draft as well.

What picks do the Rams have entering the 2025 NFL Draft?

The Rams surrendered their Round 2 pick to the Carolina Panthers to move up last year to select DT Braden Fiske. The team also swapped the Round 5 pick with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an installment payment for IOL Kevin Dotson and the Steelers' Round 6 pick.

As such, the Rams hold eight picks in this draft, but with huge gaps that stand out with the team's initial picks. They are:

• Round 4 - 127 | Day 3
• Round 6 - 190 | Day 3

Of course, many draft analysts expect the Rams to trade out of Round 1. If they do, the expectation is for the team to pick up draft picks in Round 2 and 5. But there are many teams believed to be interested in trading back in this year's draft. That could complicate efforts to trade back. Even if successful in trading back, the Rams may not get their fair market value of that Round 1 pick in the exchange.

What time will the Rams be on the clock in the 2025 NFL Draft?

The amount of time allowed for each pick in Round 1 of the draft is 10 minutes. So, by performing some basic math, the calculated time for the draft to land on the 26th overall pick equates to a maximum of 260 minutes until the Rams are on the clock, or nearly 4.5 hours. But how many NFL teams take the entire allotted time?

Some teams know who they want. Other teams are prepared to make a draft-day trade. If you dial back to the 2023 NFL Draft, the 26th overall pick was selected after 3:20:00 (three hours 20 minutes) had elapsed. If that happens in the 2025 NFL Draft, which places the Rams at the podium on or about the 8:10-8:30 pm PT on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
