The LA Rams (9-6) are back at it again. In Week 17, the Rams host the Arizona Cardinals (8-9) in a game that may not make or break their 2024 NFL season, but certainly will help them secure a spot in postseason competition for the second consecutive year. The Rams have swept the San Francisco 49ers in 2024, and defeated the Seattle Seahawks in their first clash this season. The Cardinals, winners of the Week 2 match-up, are the only division rival the Rams have not beaten this season.
The team hopes to change all of that in Week 17.
Rams fans are a diverse group of NFL supporters. Some fans bury themselves in the data, citing individual player performances and individual plays to form their opinions about the team. Others take a more casual approach. Tell me the score. Tell me who's responsible. Tell me the next opponent. So there is a wide range of interests to support each week. Not every article is expected to be everyone's cup of tea.
I say that up front, because the topic of the Rams jersey selection is a divisive area for Rams fans this season. Some scoff at the idea that a jersey or anything not related to the play and the execution of that play could have any bearing on the outcome of the game. Others are open to the idea, but skeptical that is does anything more than calm the pre-game anxiety that accompanies every football game.
Still others buy into the concept. Whether it falls back to the same reason for wearing a tuxedo and/or a ballroom gown to the senior prom, a wedding gown for the bride at a wedding, or placing a suit on a deceased loved one for an open casket funeral, society has a long history of attire representing a ritualistic means of aiming the future in the right direction.
And it's stuck with cultures for thousands of years.
So what are the Rams wearing in Week 17?
Rams uniform combination
- Rams Jersey: Royal Blue
- Rams Pants: Sol Yellow
- Rams Socks: Royal Blue
This is what it looks like:
Does it look familiar? It should. The Rams wore the same uniform combination to stun the red-hot Buffalo Bills in Week 14.
The LA Rams need a lot of help to lock in the NFC West Division title even if they defeat the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17. And there is no reason to expect other NFL teams to accommodate the Rams needs. Even if you do not believe that a jersey can make a difference, I see no reason not to support the fans who do. After all, the Rams may control their own destiny in 2024. But in Week 17, this team needs help to secure that playoff berth.
As always, thanks for reading.
