It's Monday Night Football, the first day of a new workweek for LA Rams fans. And what better way to regroup and get in the right frame of mind for a new set of challenges than gathering with friends, relatives, and loved one for another Rams contest.
This week, the Rams host the Miami Dolphins (2-6). Despite the fact that the Rams are home and trying to extend a three-game winning streak, the Dolphins are not viewed as a deep underdog in this one. In fact, you would be better off to consider this one a game between evenly matched teams.
The Dolphins are a veteran team, but between injuries and bad luck, have fallen short on the scoreboard. To be fair, the Dolphins have faced some successful teams. But with their only wins coming against the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-8) and New England Patriots (3-7), there is the chance that the Rams may not consider the Dolphins a challenge. They cannot afford to take them lightly.
The Rams defense has been playing incredibly well of late. But this offense has struggled. Unfortunately, the Dolphins defense is very stingy as well.

The LA Rams complete the Trifecta of primetime NFL programming, now having played on Thursday Night Football (vs. the Minnesota Vikings), Sunday Night Football (vs. the Detroit Lions), and soon-to-be Monday Night Football (vs. the Miami Dolphins.
This is not the best of the NFL as schedulers had hoped for in setting up the game for prime time. The Dolphins (2-6) are not quite as competitive as expected, while the Rams (4-4) opened the season at 1-4. So this game is not exactly the best of the league. But this is an intriguing contest however NFL moguls view it. The Dolphins have lost their past two games by the thinnest of margins, while the Rams are winning, but not dominating, opponents.
Referees for Dolphins vs. Rams
Head Referee: Ron Torbert
Ron Torbort enters his 11th season as referee. He and his crew handled the New Orleans Saints at the Carolina Panthers game in Week 9. After the Saints lost that game, they fired HC Dennis Allen. I don't know that Miami Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel is on the hot seat just yet, but a loss to the Rams could open the floor to those discussions.
Per Pro Football Reference, Torbert's crew is a bit heavy handed when it comes to tossing the flag. His crew averages 137.25 penalty yards and 16.63 penalties per game, a significant excess over the league average of 103.22 penalty yards and 12.84 penalties per game.

It's optimistic to hope for no controversies. But as replay and video technology have improved, the number of missed or incorrect calls in any given game continues to rise. Hopefully, calls will not headline this game

The LA Rams have gotten remarkable production from WR Demarcus Robinson lately. And facing former Rams DB Jalen Ramsey, he will need to score early and often in this one. The Dolphins will likely pit Ramsey in coverage against either Cooper Kupp or Puka Nacua. That could force QB Matthew Stafford to target other receivers.
Of course, the Rams will need to get RB Kyren Williams into the endzone in this one. The Seattle Seahawks lost in Week 9, but they halted Williams touchdown-scoring streak at 10 games. Now, the Rams must engineer new ways to get Williams into the end zone.
And as always, thanks for reading.
