Clayton, DX Ruled Out For Sunday

Taking a break from the Sam Bradford saga for a minute (although he did more work today at practice and there is still a possibility he could play Sunday), I thought it was important to let everyone know that Mark Clayton and Danario Alexander have both been ruled out for Sunday at Arizona. DX suffered a setback earlier this week with him hamstring injury, and Spags said on Friday that he won’t be ready to go after missing the last two days of practice. Obviously, this is a hit to the offense, but those hamstring injuries can be difficult and playing too soon could lead to him missing much more time than necessary. The good news is that this isn’t a knee thing, so hopefully the weekend off will have him ready to go next week at practice.

As far as Clayton goes, it sounds like he is getting closer but just isn’t ready yet. Spags said that they are going to re-evaluate him on Monday-Tuesday of next week, so we will know more then. Just judging from the tone of what Spags had to say on Clayton, it looks like he is going to be evaluated very closely next week with an eye on getting him active if everything checks out. Although he won’t play Sunday, I liked what Spags had to say on the situation so watch closely next week.
