Earlier this year, the Arizona Cardinals made headlines when they announced that they would induct future Hall of Fame quarterback, Kurt Warner, into to their “Ring of Honor.” While Warner was impressive in his handful of seasons playing on the Rams’ division rivals in the desert, the announcement just seemed strange, in light of the fact that he had not yet been made the cut for the prestigious “Rams Ring of Fame.” The grocery bagger-turned-gunslinger is synonymous with the Greatest Show on Turf, leading a myriad of future (and one current) Canton Enshrinees in arguably the most potent, dynamic offense that the National Football League has ever seen. So, being inducted into another team’s illustrious Ring just seemed off-putting, to say the least…
While Kurt Warner may still not have his name in the highly-exclusive Ring of Fame, one that includes all-time greats like Eric Dickerson and Deacon Jones, the Rams hero did get another step closer to St. Louis immortality this week. Today, the St. Louis Rams Post-Dispatch announced that Warner would be inducted into the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame.
Warner will join his fellow members of the Greatest Show on Turf, who have been inducted periodically over the past half decade; that list includes, D’Marco Farr (2013), Orlando Pace (2012), Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce (2011), and Marshall Faulk (2010). The induction ceremony will take place on October 13th at 11:00am at the Missouri Athletic Club.
