Rams Reportedly Sign CB Troy Hill to Practice Squad
The Los Angeles Rams have re-signed cornerback Troy Hill to the practice squad.
Well, that didn’t take long. Just one day after being waived, the Los Angeles Rams have re-signed cornerback Troy Hill to the practice squad.
Hill was arrested for DUI on Saturday morning, inactive for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, and was waived on Tuesday.
It has been a pretty busy week for the 25-year-old, who will now end up back with the Rams after clearing waivers, according to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times:
"Cornerback Troy Hill, who was released by the Rams on Tuesday, cleared waivers and was re-signed to the practice squad Wednesday, a person with knowledge of the situation said."
When speaking about Hill on Tuesday, head coach Jeff Fisher said he was disappointed in his player, but would consider giving him a second chance. Apparently Fisher wasn’t kidding and lived up to his word.
Hill’s arrest will likely lead to a suspension from the league. Regardless, the Rams aren’t going anywhere anytime soon and Hill is a good young player who can help in the future.
The undrafted free agent out of Oregon is tied for fourth on the team in tackles in his second season in the NFL. He spent part of the 2015 campaign with the Cincinnati Bengals, playing in just three games.
In another move, the Rams also re-signed cornerback Steve Williams, who spent a brief amount of time with the team earlier in the season.
