The Los Angeles Rams hope Sunday will finally mark the first time Todd Gurley breaks the 100-yard rushing mark in 2016.

When it comes to the biggest disappointments from the 2016 season, Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams ranks near the top of the list as this year has been nothing but a bust for the running back.

The fact that Gurley is entering Week 14 still in search of his first 100-yard rushing game of the season shows how much of a disappointment he’s been, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t hope for Sunday as the Rams host the Atlanta Falcons.

If there’s anything to take away from the Falcons this year, it would be their defense is beatable as the team is allowing opponents to average 27.6 points per game. Even if Los Angeles ranks last in the league by averaging just 15 points per game, this may be the game Gurley has been waiting for to finally get going in the ground game.

After taking home Rookie of the Year honors in 2015 by rushing for 1,106 yards to go along with 10 touchdowns, Gurley was considered a strong candidate to take home the rushing title this season. Obviously, that’s not going to happen as Gurley enters Week 14 with only 679 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Hopefully, Gurley can provide a spark on offense against the Falcons on Sunday to at least give fans some sort of excitement during the final month of the regular season. Plus, all the fantasy football owners that used a first-round pick on Gurley would love nothing more than to see their running back finally record a breakout game with playoffs getting underway.
