Were the Los Angeles Rams thrilled with the performance of veteran wide receiver Davante Adams in 2025? While he certainly proved to be unstoppable in the red zone en route to 14 receiving touchdowns in 14 games, he only recorded 789 receiving yards last season, his lowest in 10 years.

LA did consider whether a change would address the lower-than-expected production. But the team thought better, and is prepared to ride the commitment to Adams one more season. While fans may ponder the decision, it was the right choice.

You see, Davante Adams is going to rebound in 2026.

Adams did not enjoy his typical dominance of NFL secondaries because he struggled to establish chemistry with starting quarterback Matthew Stafford. How bad did it become? After six games, the two connected on just 26 of 55 passes. for 396 yards and three touchdowns. That's a catch rate of just 47.2 percent.

And there it is. Adams struggled early in the season

Davante Adams sprang to life in 2025, and should carry over to 2026

If you parse Adams 2025 season in the LA Rams offense after six games, you find that he improved significantly. He caught 34 of 59 passes (a 57.6 catch rate) for 393 yards and 11 touchdowns in just eight games. That's the type of production Los Angeles had hoped to get throughout the season.

Unfortunately, Adams suffered a nagging hamstring injury that thwarted his goal of putting up 1000 receiving yards last season.

But there is a direct correlation to LA's offense topping the NFL in scoring and Adams's impact in Horns. Davante Adams put up 14 receiving touchdowns, or 84 points, for Los Angeles in his first season with the team. And that happened in a year that Adams did not work with his starting quarterback until the season started.

Imagine the upside of Stafford to Adams after a full training camp of ironing out their communication?

NFL analysts miss that fact. Perhaps some fans do, too. But the opportunity for Matthew Stafford and Davante Adams to build upon 2025 is not something that should be overlooked. These two veterans understand what it takes to succeed in the NFL.

Now, they'll get an opportunity to forge a season that shows defenses what they are capable of. For Matthew Stafford, that means more of the same. For Davante Adams, that means he will once again dominate defenses.

For Rams fans, it means grab the popcorn. It's about to get fun.

As always, thanks for reading.
