Nothing is better for fans of the Los Angeles Rams than to hear NFL experts dismiss their chances long before the game is played. Despite the season-long hype that followed the Horns into the postseason, NFL experts are beginning to break ranks and show strong support for the Chicago Bears.

So the latest breakdown by First Things First on Fox Sports was very promising, despite strong support from two of three analysts for the Bears. It may simply be a matter of personal preference, but many fans are happier with LA in the role of road underdogs than road favorites. And as more and more NFL analysts weigh in, road underdogs seem to be the default for Round 2 of the NFL playoffs.

Under normal conditions, the Rams should win this one. But this game is anything but normal. Los Angeles must overcome a talented Bears team, frigid winds and temperatures, and an NFL officiating crew that is unlikely to be impartial.

But if NFL analysts toss shade their way, that could be a difference maker.

Matthew Stafford playing at an entirely elite level

Despite a subpar performance against the Carolina Panthers, quarterback Matthew Stafford continues to hum at an entirely elite level. The offense put up over 400 yards and 34 points in the victory, powered by the 37-year-old's 304 passing yards, three touchdowns, and one interception performance.

He tossed touchdowns to running back Kyren Williams, tight end Colby Parkinson, and wide receiver Davante Adams. Nacua also added a touchdown run, putting the team's versatility on full display. But the game was not fully decided until Stafford completed a 19-yard touchdown pass to Parkinson with 38 seconds remaining in the game.

Stafford is beyond elite with the game on the line.

After knocking off the rust in the season's final game, the offense appeared to be confident throughout the entire game. And the win will certainly generate positive momentum that will carry over against the Bears.

This could be another close game, but it doesn't feel as dangerous as the trip to Carolina felt. There is something about the Horns that seems to benefit the team after winning a close contest. The cards may be stacked against them, but this feels like a winnable game thanks to the emerging support for the Bears.

As always, thanks for reading.
