St. Louis Rams Defensive End, Chris Long, To Miss “A Few Games”
As if the St. Louis Rams early season woes couldn’t get much worse. After suffering an ankle injury in the second half of Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, defensive end Chris Long will have surgery and will miss a few games according to the team.
However, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the recovery time could be more than a few games. According to Schefter, it could be 8-10 weeks before the Rams have Long back.
Long’s status against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was in question, but some expected the veteran player to be ok to play on Sunday. It seems now that many were underplaying the injury. Instead of risking further injury or play in pain all season, Long will have surgery this week to resolve the issue now. The Rams will place Long on injured reserve/designated for return.
