This debate will rage all season long, but for now Marcus Mariota will hold a slight edge of Jameis Winston with a stellar 4 touchdown performance on Sunday. The two faced off against one another for the first time since Oregon and Florid State met in the College Football Playoffs last year, and once again Mariota got the better of Winston. This time to the tune of 42-14.

Injuries were abound on Sunday as more than a few notable players were sidelined to some extent. Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, St. Louis Rams cornerback Trumaine Johnson, Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr and Arizona Cardinals running back Andre Ellington and others went down on Sunday.

Ndamukong Suh signed a $114 million contract this offseason to take his talents to south beach. Unfortunately for the Miami Dolphins, that means he also brings his reputation and one that holds him as a dirty player. Suh recorded a whopping two tackles on Sunday, but was accused of kicking off a payers helmet and attempted eye-gouging. Both of these are egregious offenses if actually true, but when asked about it post game Suh said he simply couldn’t remember. Likely story for a repeat offender.

Are the Indianapolis Colts really Super Bowl contenders, or just pretenders? Well, onSunday they certainly did not look like the high powered offensive machine they were in 2014. Andrew Luck and company were held in check by Rex Ryan and the Buffalo Bills. Surprise starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor threw for 195 yards and a touchdown as the Bills cruised to a 27-14 Week 1 win.

The St. Louis Rams stood up Marshawn Lynch on Sunday and pulled out an overtime victory that will go down as one of the best games between the two division rivals. However, the beating the Seahawks took didn’t stop on the field. The St. Louis Rams team twitter account also got in a little competitive dig after the win. Seahawks quarterback makes a habit out of tweeting out “1-0” prior to each game to encompass the teams mentality of one week at a time. The Rams took that and had some fun. Check it out.
