The (4-3) St. Louis Rams are hoping to keep their winning streak alive as they are battling it out with the (5-2) Minnesota Vikings. To start the game it was all Vikings, as they had the home crowd on their side. The Rams offense could not get things going, as their first offensive drive went for only one yard. However, one the very first play of the game, Nick Foles faked a hand-off to both Tavon Austin and Todd Gurley which gave him a wide open Kenny Britt down the field, yet Foles did not pull the trigger. Remember this play, as it will come up later. Besides the Rams offense once again having a cold start, the wind will be a problem for both teams as it has reached anywhere to 25 mph.

That would hurt the Rams first punt of the game, as the Vikings would start the game on the Rams 46 yard line. With the offense cold to start, so was the defense, as they would total 4 penalties to help give the Vikings more room to work with. The best red zone defense would once again prove its ranking as they would hold the Vikings to only a field goal, and the Vikings took an early 3-0 lead. Once again with the offense still trying to figure themselves out, the Vikings jumped all over the opportunity to grab an early lead. Vikings gave the ball to Adrian Peterson and made the Rams pay.

Vikings would accomplish something no team has done the last two weeks against the Rams and would score a touchdown to take a 10-0 lead. Peterson would run to the right, and would find the end zone for a 6 yard TD rush. With the Vikings up already 10-0, the Rams offense and defense finally got their groove back. The very next drive for the Rams, they would put together an 8 play, 80 yard drive that would be finished off with Gurley running in from one yard out for the touchdown. This drive wouldn’t have been successful without the deep ball from Foles. Remember the Rams very first play? They would call the same exact play, and Foles pulled the trigger and had Britt down the field for a 55 yard pass.

Because of the strong winds, Coach Jeff Fisher would elect to go for the two point conversation, but would fail. Hopefully this will not hurt the Rams in the end. With the offense finally getting some points on the board, the defense stepped up in a huge way. The Vikings would turn cold for the rest of the game, as Greg Williams and his defense made the Vikings punt three straight times. As for the Rams offense they would find some nice drives and get Austin and Gurley into the game.

The Rams would connect for three straight field goals, which one would include a new record for Greg Zuerlein. Zuerlein would connect from 61, 35 and 45 yard field goals, to give the Rams their first lead of the game and the momentum. St. Louis Rams lead the Vikings at halftime by the score of 15-10. Vikings will start off with the ball in the second half.

Halftime Stats: Nick Foles 11-19, 131 yards passing. Todd Gurley 11 carries for 34 yards, 1 TD. Kenny Britt, two catches for 78 yards.
