No. 5 Robert Quinn
Robert Quinn has firmly established himself as one of the league’s elite edge rushers ever since becoming a starting 4-3 defensive end for the St. Louis Rams. And although he has failed to dominate like he did in the 2013 season where he compiled nineteen sacks, Quinn is still a force that offensive left tackles fear on game day.
When Robert Quinn came out of North Carolina in 2011, he was considered an elite prospect as a pass rusher who struggled in the run game. Through ten weeks this season, Quinn is second on the team with five sacks. Considering he is part of the “Sack City” defensive line that includes fellow first rounders Aaron Donald, Chris Long, Michael Brockers, and Nick Fairley, a drop-off in sack production is expected. Quinn has also drastically improved in his run defense since entering the league. In eight games this season, Quinn has 21 tackles.
The fact that this year is considered a “down year” for the Robert Quinn shows just how good the young man is. He still hurries the quarterback on the blindside of the line. He still knows how to knock the ball out of the opposing player’s hands, recording thirteen fumbles in his first four years as a Ram and forcing three more this season.
