The St. Louis Rams can end the season 8-8 if they win their last two games. Today they have the hard task of facing the 12th man and the Seattle Seahawks. With the way the first two quarters went, looks as if the Rams and Jeff Fisher are not scared of the Seahawks as they have already defeated them once this season. The Rams are looking to sweep the Seahawks this season and have an early lead into this game.

The Rams lead the Seahawks at halftime 16-3, thanks to a team playing their best first half this season. When St. Louis can pull it together and have a solid game plan they are a very dangerous team. With hopeful defensive player of the year Aaron Donald causing trouble in the first series, the Rams got the ball with excellent field position. The Rams ran five plays in which three of those went to running back Todd Gurley and one of those to wide receiver Tavon Austin.
The last play was a successful field goal kick from the birthday boy Greg Zuerlein as the Rams got on the board first in Seattle. The very next series for Seattle would cause problems as giving a handoff to an offense/defensive lineman can always lead to trouble. On a 3rd and 1 play, Seattle handed the ball off to Will Tukuafu as linebacker Mark Barron tackled Tukuafu and forced a fumble on the play. Other linebacker Akeem Ayers would pick up the loose ball and return it 45 yards for the touchdown.

St. Louis would add-on the extra point as they now had a 10-0 lead halfway into the 1st quarter. With Seattle being red-hot as of late, there was still a lot of time for them to come back, however the Rams top five defense reminded quarterback Russell Wilson why they are one of the best. Trumaine Johnson would intercept Wilson as that was Wilson’s first interception thrown in the last six games. The Rams defense came to play and shut down the Seahawks early.
The Rams offense would have a couple of cold offensive drives as they gave the ball right back to Seattle, yet that would not matter as St. Louis’ defense was too much for Russell Wilson. Half way into the 2nd quarter now as Wilson would call three plays that would result in minus eleven yards. With a speedy punt returner of Tavon Austin, he returned a punt to Seattle’s 28 yard line. With great field position, quarterback Case Keenum would find number 1 receiver Kenny Britt. One play was only needed as Keenum threw a beauitful pass to Britt for a 28 yard touchdown.

However the birthday boy Zuerlein would miss the extra point as the St. Louis now had a commanding 16-0 lead. The 12th man was silent for the whole first half. Wilson would have one more go on offense before the half and would finally put some points on the board. The Rams defense was tough and made Seattle use 16 plays and almost 7 minutes to only allow a field goal. With one of the best red zone defenses in the league, the Rams held Seattle to only a 26 yard field goal.
St. Louis held Seattle to only 86 total yards on offense as Wilson is struggling with only 96 passing yards and a touchdown. The Rams defense has two sacks, a forced fumble and an interception. Seattle’s rushing game is nowhere to be found as the team carried fourteen times for fourteen yards. The Rams great defensive half gave the Rams offense great field position as they have used it to their advantage.
The St. Louis Rams lead the Seattle Seahawks 16-3 at half. Will the Rams pull of the upset? Stay tuned for the second half results.
