The last time the St. Louis Rams went into Seattle and walked away with a victory was back in the 2005 playoffs. It’s time to change that year to 2015. The Rams walked into Seattle knowing they were facing one of the hottest teams in the NFL, yet did not shy away from the challenge. Before kick off the Rams were 11 point underdogs, yet they walked away with a very impressive 23-17 victory.

In the season, the Rams were 6-0 anytime they scored more 20 points. It’s not a lot of points, yet with a top defense that’s all the Rams need to steal a victory away from anyone. Now that record is 7-0 as they scored 23 points in this one. St. Louis shut down Seattle from the start, and even when the Seahawks were able to get passed the tough defense of the Rams, Case Keenum led the Rams offense to respond.

The Rams probably played their best game of the season, and held the playoff bond Seahawks for the majority of the game. St. Louis got the scoring started with a field goal, yet only improved from then. Once again St. Louis’ defense was the spotlight and got the first touchdown of the game. Mark Barron forced a fumble on a 3rd and 1 as Akeem Ayers picked up the loose football and returned it 45 yards for the touchdown. St. Louis had the momentum as they ended the 1st quarter with a surprising 10-0 lead.

Once the St. Louis Rams get fired up, they cannot be stopped. That’s why they have always been known for beating above average teams out of no where. The defense stopped the red-hot Russell Wilson and gave the Rams offense excellent field position all game. The Rams would continue to silence the loud 12th man, as quarterback Keenum would throw a beauty to Kenny Britt for a 28 yard touchdown pass. Unfortunately, the birthday boy Greg Zuerlein would miss the extra point.

Seattle would finally get some type of momentum before the half as they put together a sixteen play, six minute drive that gave them three points. The Rams top five red zone defense stopped the Seahawks and had a 16-3 lead walking into the locker room at half.

However Seattle would make it interesting in the 3rd Quarter. The Seahawks would come out of the locker room and put together a eleven play almost seven minute touchdown drive. Doug Baldwin would be on the receving end of the 25 yard touchdown pass from Wilson. Rams now led 16-10 but it would not matter as Todd Gurley and company would finish the game off in a wild fashion.

St. Louis would answer with a touchdown of their own, as Gurley would muscle his way in for a two yard rushing touchdown. However it was not as clean as they expected it to be. The Rams offense would fumble twice on the drive, but saving grace center Tim Barnes would fall on both of them. Tim Barnes you are a hero indeed today. St. Louis now had a 23-10 lead as Seattle would make a costly mistake near the red zone.

Seattle would answer but the Rams would get the last laugh on the drive. Russell Wilson would drive the offense all the way to the St. Louis 31 yard line but would cost his team a chance for a comeback. Wilson would start to go down for a slide on a quarterback run but Eugene Sims would tackle Wilson and strip the ball away from him. Akeem Ayers would once again recover the fumble and stopped the Seattle attack.

There was no time left for Seattle to comeback to win this game. They would end up putting up another touchdown in the last seconds of the game, but it was too late. The Rams finally beat the Seattle Seahawks with a 23-17 victory.

St. Louis as a team would rush for over 100 yards, recover two fumbles, sack Wilson four times and record an interception thanks to Trumaine Johnson. The sweep has finally happened as the St. Louis Rams have beaten the Seahawks in Week 1 and now Week 16.

Time to celebrate Rams fans.
