Todd Gurley big part of Rams jump in Power Rankings
The St. Louis Rams continued their roller coaster season last Sunday with a big time victory over the Seattle Seahawks at Century Link Field. A victory that had eluded the team in their last ten tries was earned through complete effort on both sides of the ball. Once again rookie running back Todd Gurley showed why he is far and away the best offensive player selected in the 2015 draft with an 85-yard day capped off with the go-ahead touchdown to bring the Rams their seventh victory of the season.

Gurley has been the start of the show all season long and his performance this passed Sunday put him over the 1,000-yard rushing mark. In addition, his touchdown in the fourth-quarter put him up to ten for the season. The last Rams rookie to accomplish such a feat, Eric Dickerson back in 1983. Pete hits the nail on the head in one sentence. The Rams victory over Seattle on Sunday is a tease. A tease of something more that this team could have been all season long. A team that could have reached 10 wins and competed with the Seahawks for a Wild Card spot. A team that allowed too many games slip away and allowed lesser teams off the hook. This St. Louis squad is close, but then again, that’s been the story for years. (Division Rivals: Seattle 6, Arizona 1, San Francisco 31)

Not much has changed here. Flora echoes Prisco to the “T” and we all feel like we have read this story before. St. Louis gets up for the big ones and lets the lesser games slip through the cracks. Inevitably the Rams will stay the course with reports of head coach Jeff Fisher and general manager Les Snead returning for the 2016 season all hoe lies with the players in fulfilling all the expectations. Seems like this story is getting old pretty quickly. St. Louis is a very talented team that can’t seem to get out of their own way. Their biggest challenge is, and has always been, consistency. Their ability to string together victories has eluded them and it appears no team falls flat of expectations quite like the Rams. They may have something in new offensive coordinator Rob Boras, and it’s obvious Gurley is a stud. Another year of Nick Foles and a healthy offensive line might be the catalyst to Fisher’s first winning season since coming to St. Louis. (Division Rivals: Seattle 7, Arizona 2, San Francisco 32)
