As the St. Louis Rams season comes to an end, everybody will have their attention on a meeting that will be held on January 12th and 13th to go over new relocation plans. Owners are expected to approve one of the proposals that three teams have submitted. The Rams, Chargers and Raiders have all filed for relocation. St. Louis made it public to the fans with a very well written statement.

“The St. Louis Rams informed the National Football League today that the Rams propose to relocate to the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area. The relocation would be effective for the 2016 NFL League Year.” With the proposal submitted and statement to the fans, the Rams are official in the mix for relocation. However there is one person who is already one step of the game, and is taking this relocation into his own hands.

Rams owner Stan Kroenke sounds as if he wants to the Rams to move to Inglewood as soon as possible. Kroenke and his best friend James Butts (Inglewood Mayor) have already begun their new dream stadium. According to a report from Brian Feldt of the St. Louis Business Journal, Inglewood mayor James Butts said the plan of Kroenke and the city is to build the new $2 billion stadium even if the NFL didn’t approve their bid.

If the Rams do not get approved for their relocation, the stadium could host other special events. With a 80,000 seat capacity, the stadium could be in the mix for other sporting events such as the World Cup, Olympics and possibly award shows. So even if the Rams do not get approved at least the city and the stadium will be used.

However, we all know what Kroenke is really doing here. It sounds like an effort from Kroenke to show up to the meeting and already say something along the lines of “I’m already building the stadium, they are coming home” It also could show that Kroenke is calling the bluffs that the Rams are not going to return back to Los Angeles. The Rams moving back to Los Angeles has always been thrown in the air with their poor attendance and stadium deal, but Kroenke is going all out.

Is Inglewood really going to make a stadium for a couple of award shows, World Cups and Olympics for years to come, or does the Inglewood mayor know something that we do not know? Last February, Inglewood’s city council approved the $2 billion project, which will be located at the old Hollywood Park.

If the Rams do not get approval, what would Kroenke do next? Kroenke could either accept a proposed $1.1 billion stadium along St. Louis’ north Mississippi riverfront or remain in the Edward Jones Dome. But Mr. Kronke is not a big fan of St. Louis’ proposal one bit as he put them on blast Tuesday.

Kroenke talked about the new stadium plan in the league submission. The local plan to build a $1.1 billion riverfront stadium? “Any NFL Club that signs on to this proposal in St. Louis will be well on the road to financial ruin, and the League will be harmed,” the application said.
