What’s so crazy about the new Gillette Fusion ProShield, it has a new cartridge that features lubrication before and after the blades to shield faces from irritation during every shave. With Rodger Saffold shielding his quarterback day in and day out, he now can shield his face from irritation and now so can you.
I had the privilege of interviewing Rodger Saffold Friday morning, and asked him about the St. Louis Rams season, and his new product the Fusion ProShield. My questions are in bold, while Mr. Saffold answers are italicize.
The 2015 St. Louis Rams season is over, we know you suffered a pretty bad shoulder injury, but what was your favorite memory this past season?
My favorite memory would have to be against the Arizona Cardinals. It was one of the best games I’ve played as we helped Todd Gurley introduce himself to the NFL. Gurley just went off for I think somewhere around 140 yards, it was crazy. Also I’m pretty sure we allowed zero sacks that game as well.
Speaking of not allowing sacks that game, The Rams turned themselves around with allowing the lowest amount of sacks in the NFL this year. What changed from last year?
We had a little trouble starting the year off right the past season, and we had one main goal of focusing on protecting our quarterback. We pretty much did what we had too, as we are opening up a running game now. Our line is getting more and more experience each game, and that’s what we need to protect and shield our offense.
Would have been nice to see you more on the field this year, but are you excited to get back on the field after this injury?
Of course I am, I’m excited and ready to get back on that field. I want to be apart of this team and help them win some football games.
You’re known for protecting the Rams on the field, now how does the new Gillette Fusion ProShield help protect you off the field?
With the new Gillette Fusion ProShield it adds a Lubrication Bar before the blades in addition to the Lubrastrip after the blades, while still delivering incredible closeness. It stops everything from skin irritation, redness and bumps that keep me and myself from looking our best on the field. That’s why I have teamed up with Gillette to protect on and off the field.
So with the new ProShield, Gillette has the new slogan #ShieldMove who wants users to show of their own signature dance moves. So tell me a little about your own signature move.
Haha, yes that dance move is called “The ForceField” as I’m dancing inside one. It was pretty funny to do it as well. I had to do a couple of takes with my helmet off and on, and just enjoyed it.
Were you listening to any type of music during that video? On that note, what’s your favorite song or band/album right now?
Yeah, actually let me pull up my music library right now. I’ve been listening to a lot of Future and Wiz Khalifa lately, as that is my go to music. I can listen to anything that can make me “Dab” since everybody is doing their own “Dabing” now. But I would have to pick Khalifa as his music get’s me going.
2016 is here, do you have any new year resolutions or goals for the upcoming season?
One of my biggest goals that I’m going to try to achieve is I’m going to be the comeback player of the NFL. I’m going to put the work in, and I’m excited and ready to get back on that field. I’m hungry to get a taste of the playoffs next season and I’m hoping I can be apart of it. I want to be that comeback player next season.
