The injury suffered by Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin on Sunday looked bad at first, but turned out to only be a minor one.

After picking up the fifth-year option on his contract during the offseason, the Los Angeles Rams hope 2016 is the year where Tavon Austin finally has that big breakout season at wide receiver–especially with the possibility of Jared Goff being thrown in the mix right away as the starting quarterback.

Austin is coming off an impressive 2015 season in which he found the end zone 10 times, but the wideout suffered a bit of a scare during practice on Sunday when he appeared to have suffered a leg injury. According to Jeff Fisher, Austin’s injury was only dealing with cramps and should return to the field right away.

When considering the fact that Austin was carted off the field, it’s easy to understand why the Rams and their fans assumed the worst with their wideout. Austin may not have lived up to the hype over his first three seasons since he’s yet to break the 500-yard receiving mark, but 2015 was a step in the right direction.

With the possibility of a breakout season resulting in a new contract down the road, Austin realizes just how important this upcoming season is and it’s safe to say he can’t wait to get back on the field after dealing with these minor cramp issues on Sunday.
