The Los Angeles Rams received help in Week 8 when it comes to the NFC West thanks to losses by the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals.

After three losses in a row, the Los Angeles Rams entered the bye week with plenty to think about as the argument can be made this team could easily be much better than their record indicates. However, the Rams did receive some help from two of their division rivals to at least put them in a little better shape heading into their Week 9 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

Thanks to losses by the Seattle Seahawks (4-2-1) and Arizona Cardinals (3-4-1), the Rams were able to gain some ground in the NFC West standings as they head into Week 9 with a 3-4 record of their own. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, their offensive woes continued on Sunday as Russell Wilson’s squad just couldn’t figure out a way to take advantage of playing against one of the league’s worst defenses in the Saints.

Even though Seattle held New Orleans to four field goals, it wasn’t enough for the Seahawks to come through with the victory.

As for the Cardinals, their performance against the Carolina Panthers was similar to the one from the NFC Championship after Carson Palmer was sacked eight times on Sunday. Arizona has struggled to live up to their hype from the offseason, but what happened on the field against Carolina was nothing more than embarrassing.

Los Angeles may have a long way to go if they’re going to have any shot at getting back in the hunt for the NFC West title, but at least they received some unexpected help during their bye week from two of their division rivals.
