Remember all of the hype surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles at the beginning of the season following a 3-0 start? Sadly, reality eventually caught up with the Eagles thanks to the inconsistency of the defense along with ranking near the bottom of the league with their receiving corps.

Still, the one positive takeaway from this year was the development of Carson Wentz, as the future appears to be bright for the young quarterback. He may not have had the same weapons to work with like Dak Prescott, but Wentz’s toughness and ability to make plays out of nothing is one of many reasons why Philadelphia fans fell in love with him so quickly.

Just imagine the damage Wentz will be capable of heading into next season with a year of experience under his belt, and an improved passing game. The one thing that sticks out the most from this past season is Jordan Matthews and Nelson Agholor aren’t made to be No. 1 wide receivers in this league.

When looking at what the Eagles gave up in order to acquire Wentz, here’s to hoping they’re at least smart enough to provide him with better options during the offseason to make them contenders again in the NFC East.
