Rams Could Sign Jackson or Garcon This Year

One of the main reasons why Jared Goff struggled so much during the 2016 season was due to Los Angeles having one of the league’s weakest receiving corps. Even if Kenny Britt did give the team their first 1,000-yard receiver since the 2007 season, it still doesn’t take away from how much of a disappointment Tavon Austin turned out to be when comparing his ridiculous contract to lack of production.

All signs point to Britt signing with a different team once free agency officially gets underway, and if that does end up happening, the Rams will need to bring another wide receiver on board for the 2017 season. Bringing on a big-name receiver like Alshon Jeffery would be a dream come true, but Los Angeles has already been linked to possibly going after two current teammates of Kirk Cousins in DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon.

Either receiver would make a great addition and have an immediate impact in the Rams’ passing game, but it’s hard not to wonder if the addition of Jackson or Garcon would influence Kirk Cousins down the road if things didn’t work out with the Redskins. It would be one thing for Cousins to reunite with his former offensive coordinator in Sean McVay, but imagine the possibility of him having the opportunity to team up with one of his former teammates in Jackson or Garcon if one of them were to join Los Angeles in free agency.
