5 Remaining Free Agents Los Angeles Rams Should Consider Signing
By Dan Parzych
Honorable Mention: Adrian Peterson
Adrian Peterson is quickly learning the hard way the teams he’s interested in joining for the 2017 season aren’t willing to pay the asking price the veteran running back seems to be searching for. For a running back on the verge of turning 32, the fact that Eddie Lacy was able to earn a deal from the Seattle Seahawks over Peterson shows the level of concern some teams have for him at running back.
Despite finishing the 2015 season with 1,485 rushing yards to go along with 11 touchdowns, Peterson was limited to playing in just three games last year for the Minnesota Vikings. Clearly, the Vikings made the right decision to decline the running back’s option to save $16 million for the 2017 season, and while Peterson would most likely prefer to join a serious contender at this point in his career, it’s tough not to imagine the long shot possibility of him joining the Los Angeles Rams.

From Peterson’s perspective, coming on board as a backup to Todd Gurley may not seem like the most ideal situation, but depending on what type of offers are available moving forward, he may not have another choice but to accept a reduced role with an unexpected team. Unless a miracle happens where a team finds themselves willing to spend more at running back, Peterson may not have many options left if he continues to struggle finding a new home for the 2017 season.
As mentioned before, this scenario seems like an absolute long shot for the Rams, but how scary would it be to think about a duo at running back with Gurley and Peterson behind an improve offensive line thanks to the signing of Andrew Whitworth?
