1. Jamaal Charles

Just like Adrian Peterson, Jamaal Charles is learning the hard way how difficult it is for a veteran running back to find a new home with a history of injuries. There was a time when Charles was considered one of the top running backs in the league, but after he was limited to appearing in just eight games over the last two seasons due to injuries, it was easy to understand why the Chiefs were willing to part ways.

Not to mention, this seemed like an obvious decision for Kansas City since releasing Charles helped save around $6 million in cap space. For a running back that recorded 3,304 yards from the line of scrimmage to go along with 33 total touchdowns from 2013-14, it truly is a shame to see Charles deal with numerous injuries over the last two seasons, and sadly his days as a starter appear to be long gone.

More from Ramblin' Fan

With most teams staying clear of Charles, settling for a team with a legitimate No. 1 running back like Todd Gurley to help mentor could be the best option for the former Chiefs running back. Charles will be 31 by the time next season comes to an end, and at least a team like the Los Angeles Rams would be willing to offer him a reduced role as a reliable No. 2 running back, which could work out perfect for both parties.

The Rams are in need of help at running back since all signs point to Benny Cunningham ending up elsewhere, and at least the experience factor would be beneficial with the addition of a veteran like Charles.
