31. Cleveland Browns

Who would have thought after all of the years of frustrating picks, it would be the Cleveland Browns of all teams to be one of the biggest winners of this year’s draft? Not only did the Browns land the top defensive prospect from this year in Myles Garrett, but the team ended up with two more picks in the first round, none of which ended up being a quarterback either.

For weeks, there was speculation Cleveland would consider drafting a quarterback with one of their two picks in the first round, but luckily that wasn’t the case after waiting until the second round to draft DeShone Kizer. Obviously, there’s no guarantee Kizer will develop into the type of quarterback the Browns have desperately been looking for, but at least it was a safe pick made outside of the first round.

As for the other two picks by Cleveland in the first round, it will be interesting to see the level of impact Jabrill Peppers and David Njoku can make as rookies. While Peppers should make a splash at safety for the defense, there’s a reason why the Browns were willing to trade back up into the first round at No. 29 when seeing what Njoku brings to the table as a pass-catching tight end.
