2017 NFL Power Rankings: Where do Los Angeles Rams stand during OTAs?
By Dan Parzych
31. New York Jets
Speaking of teams with questions at the quarterback position, nobody really knows what to expect from the New York Jets at this point in the offseason since the starting job seems to be wide open. Early signs point to veteran Josh McCown entering Week 1 as the starter, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Jets consider giving Christian Hackenberg or Bryce Petty a chance to prove themselves to see if either have any potential.
Then again, whomever does end up calling the shots under center could have quite the work cut out after New York made the decision to part ways with Brandon Marshall during the offseason. The duo of Eric Decker and Quincy Enunwa certainly has the chance to work wonders, but it’s going to be tough to replace someone like Marshall after seeing what he brought to the table each week.
As for the defensive side of the football, give the Jets credit for parting ways with Darrelle Revis after seeing how ineffective he was during the 2016 season. But as big of a story moving on from Revis was, there’s plenty of excitement surrounding the defensive side of the football after drafting Jamal Adams, especially after New York was recently able to send Calvin Pryor to the Cleveland Browns.
