According to Pro Football Focus, Cooper Kupp of the Los Angeles Rams has the highest rating at wide receiver so far in the 2017 NFL preseason.

When the Los Angeles Rams used a third-round pick during the 2017 NFL Draft on Cooper Kupp, it was clear that Sean McVay and the rest of the staff saw something special in the former Eastern Washington standout, and rightfully so when looking at his numbers from the last four years. With Kupp officially on board, the Rams hoped to see their new wideout eventually work his way to becoming one of Jared Goff‘s new favorite targets to work with in the passing game, but it’s safe to say that nobody expected him to make this kind of impact so fast.

Through the first two games of preseason for Los Angeles, Kupp has caught eight of the 10 passes thrown in his direction for 105 yards with a touchdown, which happened to come during Saturday’s game against the Oakland Raiders. And thanks to these impressive numbers so far, Kupp is already getting some early recognition from the folks over at Pro Football Focus when it comes to being the highest rated receiver so far in preseason.

Take a look:

Even if it is only preseason, who would have thought the Rams of all teams would have a receiver with high ratings in Kupp after all of the issues they dealt with last year on offense? Not to mention, let’s not forget it was Kupp who was responsible for the lone touchdown for Los Angeles during their first preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys after the rookie recovered a fumble by Robert Woods in the end zone.

After catching 428 passes for 6,464 yards to go along with 73 touchdowns over the last four years at Eastern Washington, the Rams strongly believe Kupp could end up finishing with around 70-80 catches as a rookie. A few weeks ago, this may have been crazy to think about for a receiver on Los Angeles, but after seeing Kupp’s performances so far in the preseason, it certainly seems more realistic for the rookie wideout.
