Jared Goff and Andrew Whitworth of the Los Angeles Rams earned PFF ‘Team of the Week honors following their recent preseason performance against the Oakland Raiders.

After a thrilling 24-21 win over the Oakland Raiders during their second week of NFL preseason action, the Los Angeles Rams have every reason in the world to feel excited about what’s in store for the upcoming 2017 season. Lack of offense was one of the main concerns surrounding the Rams heading into the offseason, as the team realized the importance of building a better unit around Jared Goff, and if Saturday’s game against the Raiders is any indication of what’s in store, they should be in good shape.

Along with a weak receiving corps, the offensive line was a major reason for concern surrounding Los Angeles during Goff’s rookie season, but luckily the team managed to land one of the top free agents from this year’s free agency class in Andrew Whitworth. Without a doubt, there’s no question the veteran will provide an immediate boost to the offensive line, and thanks to Whitworth’s strong play against the Raiders, it helped him take home honors from Pro Football Focus along with his teammate, Goff.

Isn’t it amazing how quickly things can change for a team like the Rams in such a short period of time? After all of the struggles on offense towards the end of last year, nobody would have imagined in a million years Los Angeles would be credited for having not just a quarterback in Goff on this list, but an offensive lineman in Whitworth as well.

As PFF discusses, Goff looked impressive by completing 16 of 18 passes that ended up being less than 10 yards while Whitworth did a phenomenal job of protecting his quarterback by not even allowing one pressure on the 11 pass block snaps. By Goff and Whitworth earning recognition with these honors, this shows how the Rams’ offense seems ready to surprise a lot of opponents in 2017, and the best part is this unit seems to be just getting started when it comes to hitting their potential.
