When seeing how dominant Adrian Peterson was in Week 6, the Los Angeles Rams could have their hands full against the Arizona Cardinals in London.

For the most part, the defense of the Los Angeles Rams has looked impressive at times over the last couple of weeks, which is a huge sign of relief when seeing how much the unit struggled at times early on in the year. However, with Adrian Peterson coming off a strong debut with the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6, the Rams all of a sudden have an additional weapon to worry about when they square off against their division rivals in London on Sunday.

After barely seeing any action in four games with the New Orleans Saints, the Cardinals recently acquired Peterson in a trade, and in the veteran’s debut last weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he looked like his old self. Not only did Peterson rush for 134 yards on 26 carries, but the former Minnesota Vikings star found his way into the end zone two times, showing he still has plenty of gas left in the old tank.

The Vikings made a difficult decision in the offseason to part ways with Peterson, and even though things didn’t workout with the Saints, he seems to fit right in with the Cardinals after seeing what he was able to accomplish against the Buccaneers. Arizona was in desperate need of help in the backfield after losing David Johnson at the beginning of the season, and if Peterson manages to continue playing at the high level form his Cardinals’ debut, this offense is going to be tough to contain on a weekly basis.

As for what this means for Los Angeles, well it certainly doesn’t help their case they allowed Leonard Fournette to rush for 130 yards last Sunday, 75 of which came on an opening touchdown run. Here’s to hoping Wade Phillips can figure out a way to come up with an effective game plan to keep Peterson in check, or the trip to London is going to turn into a long one for the Rams.
